| Description | The book deals firstly with general conditions for the cultivation of microorganisms. Then the individual types of culture media are described in detail, that is basic media, enriched, diagnostic, elective and differencial ones, media for anaerobes, for antibiotic tests, transport media and others. For each type of medium the principle of its function is described and one typical example is given incl. the formula, directions for the preparation and the intended use. In the note to each example the names of media of other producers are given with differences in the composition. The book continues with the description of the flow of work in the media preparation laboratory and is completed with the list of main media producers and their dealers in this country, as well as with 14 tables, the commented review of recommended further reading and the index. |
