Description In the 1950s, during a period marked by political trials, independent artists and art historians found themselves part of a persecuted minority. While some lost their social status, others faced imprisonment or were sent to uranium mines for so-called re-education. In my presentation, I will highlight the cases of a few of them and explore the importance of remembering the human dimension of each victim of totalitarian regimes.
