| Description | The video presents the internal mechanism and operation of one of the most widely used kymographs in scientific laboratories in the early 20th century. The device ensured the uniform movement of the recording cylinder, which was necessary for accurate and repeatable monitoring of psychophysiological processes. Stable operation and speed control were fundamental prerequisites for physiologists and psychologists to study the time courses of reactions, breathing, and other bodily functions. The video thus shows not only the design solution, but above all how the technical details enabled the creation of scientific data and contributed to the establishment of psychology as an empirical discipline. |
