Description | The paper deals the image of the peace movement and with the topic of the disciplination of church secretaries in post-February Czechoslovakia of the 1950s. The issue of anti-church policy had a prominent position in the priorities of the KSČ - for that reason it was important that the church secretaries performed their work correctly and did not commit missteps in the church-political field leading to social destabilization. Therefore, the narrative of the socialist bloc as a solid bulwark of peace standing in times of the Cold War against the war-hungry West did not serve only as a propaganda piece intended for the general public. By suppressing religious life, church secretaries not only helped build a new society, but at the same time, fought for world peace. |
