| Description | The present study exa mined the effects of eccentric a nd concentric strength tra ining on maximal strength a nd power development in semi-professional football players. The results revealed significa nt improvements in maximal strength of knee extensors a nd improvement, but not significa nt, of knee flexors in both concentric a nd eccentric tra ining groups. This enha ncement underscores the critical role of these muscle groups in football performa nce, including kicking, braking, a nd direction cha nges. However, no sta tistically significa nt improvement in power, as measured by broad jump performa nce, was observed in either group. |
