| Description | The exhibition "Culture Beat" was an international project (artists from Italy, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia, Uruguay) with the theme of cultural sharing and tensions (curator Joanna Marcinkovska). The exhibition presentation took place in Poznan at Nowa Scena and Duza Scena galleries on 19 April - 5 May 2024. I participated with the work “Equipment for daughter“ (2024). This work is a polemic on the custom where a mother prepares useful things for her daughter. It consists of daily necessities that every young woman should have. It could be meant as a "dowry". It reflects what is traditionally remaining from such private custom (for modern times), what is passed down with these useful items, and what stereotypes we inherit. The form of the installation is also a polemic on the /non/utility of the presented items, including the questionable aesthetics of objects in terms of their maintained traditionalism and timelessness for storage. |
