| Description | This project explores how visual art can be made accessible to blind and visually impaired audiences through immersive, multisensory interpretation. Bridging aesthetic and special education, it investigates how artworks can be transformed not only to convey visual information, but to evoke meaningful emotional experiences. The project combines findings from a systematic review of multisensory art accessibility methods with an original reinterpretation of four paintings by Czech modernists. These were adapted using touch, sound, scent, and spatial interaction. The approach was evaluated through an empirical case study with blind participants. The results highlight the potential of multisensory art experiences to foster inclusion and expand the ways in which art can be perceived and felt—beyond vision alone. |
