| Description | This study focuses on the economic activity of the Slovak population during the interwar period, with particular emphasis on regional disparities and structural transformations within the economy. Using data from the 1921 and 1930 censuses, the authors highlight the slow transition from an agrarian to a more industrial economy, while also addressing the impact of economic crises, migration processes, and gender inequalities. The contribution also reflects on the methodological limitations of contemporary statistics and provides a comprehensive overview of the socio-economic and demographic development of Slovakia within the context of the interwar Czechoslovak Republic. |
