| Description | The exchange between geographic knowledge and literary criticism has seen an increase in recent years following the recent spatial turn. In particular, since 2000s, numerous narrative texts have focu- sed on the representation of everyday pla- ces and peripheral territories. This article suggests the term “ecobiography” to iden- tify those texts whose narrative revolves around one or more places and in which the dynamics between society and nature are observed through a perspective that is halfway between the human and the non- human. Through Pianura (2021) by Belpo- liti and Una voce dal profondo (2023) by Rumiz, this analysis seeks to highlight the stylistic and thematic characteristics that give ecobiography an active socio-territorial function, recognising a historical, cultural and physical significance to places and the environment. |
