| Description | The presentation for the conference "50 years of the Labour Code and what's next" introduced the 60-year development of codified Czech labour law. Following an introduction and a timeline overview of the main stages of development, the presentation focused on 4 aspects that are key both from a historical perspective and in the context of current problems and challenges facing Czech labour law. It discussed the position of labour law within the legal order and the method of regulating labour relations, the issues of forms of work performance and illegal work, the problem of ineffective enforcement of labour law through the resolution of labour disputes, and the issue of the historical legacy of trade union organizations from the socialist era. The final part concluded that despite its long journey, Czech labour law still faces old and new fundamental challenges. |
