| Description | The article presents the results of research focused on the use of multiplication in solving non-standard problems in primary school. Strategies for solving a one-step problem presented through an image from the Mathematical Kangaroo competition in the Pre-ecolier category were analyzed. Students’ solutions were thoroughly examined and analyzed in submitted worksheets and during subsequent interviews. The research results show that solving non-standard problems can become an appropriate means of verifying understanding of multiplication. |
