| Description | The presentation focused on the psychological aspects of cross-generational relationships between grandparents and grandchildren and their importance for mental health, psychosocial development, and quality of life for both generations. Based on current research, it was shown how mutual interactions promote a sense of belonging, intergenerational transfer of values, and resilience to stress. Attention was also paid to the influence of the broader context of current social changes—such as family mobility and digitalization—on the quality of these relationships. The aim of the lecture was to emphasize why intergenerational bonds are crucial not only for the development of children and adolescents, but also for the active and meaningful aging of grandparents. |
