Description The beginning of the 20th century brought a gradual deepening of the (first) demographic transition in Slovakia, which was associated primarily with a fertility decline and an increase in life expectancy. A characteristic feature of family behavior remained the very early (within the context of the Hajnal line) and nearly universal entry into marriage. The aim of the presented study was to test the possibility of constructing standard modern demographic cross-sectional indicators for marriage, fertility and mortality processes and to subsequently analyze spatial patterns and potential differences at the county level, which affected the territory of Slovakia in the years immediately following the 1900 and 1910 censuses. The obtained results confirmed relatively significant differences in all analysed demographic processes.
