| Description | Organic micropollutants represent an emerging concern due to their increasing presence in wastewater and their potential adverse effects on aquatic ecosystems. Conventional wastewater treatment technologies are often insufficient for their effective removal, which has led to growing interest in advanced oxidation-reduction processes. In this study, three forms of reactive iron—potassium ferrate and iron nanoparticles in suspension and tablet form—were evaluated for their efficiency in degrading selected organic micropollutants in wastewater. Although the results varied depending on the type of iron and micropollutant, degradation efficiencies of up to 80% were achieved in some cases. |
