| Description | The monograph *Adolescent Psychology: A Developmental Perspective and Social Context*, edited by Petr Macko and Lenka Lacinová, presents a comprehensive scholarly overview of current knowledge regarding the psychological and social development of adolescents. The publication links developmental-psychological approaches with current topics in the everyday experiences of young people in both the Czech and international contexts. It aims not only to describe the developmental tasks and needs of adolescence but also to reflect on the transformations of adolescence in a rapidly changing world. The book is divided into thematic sections that explore key areas of adolescence: the development of cognitive and emotional abilities, changes in self-concept and identity, relationships with parents, peers, and partners, the school environment, career aspirations, moral development, civic participation, religiosity, health, risky behavior, and the influence of digital technologies. Special attention is given to current issues such as loneliness, giftedness, and changes in life satisfaction among Czech adolescents over the past thirty years. |
