| Description | This study has two aims. The first is to establish the relevance of the concept of “writing back,” originating in postcolonial studies and literary theory, for research on the Holocaust and film art. The second aim is the analysis of selected found footage films related to the Holocaust, with emphasis on strategies of transforming their source material, which is a crucial topic connected to „writing back“. In the case of A Film Unfinished (2010), the dialectic between propaganda and testimony is examined, while in Babi Yar. Context (2021), its visuality is questioned. |
