Description Most research on religion and cooperation relies on cross-sectional designs, lab-based tasks, and convenience samples, limiting ecological validity and causal inference. We present a new mobile research platform designed to study how religious beliefs and practices shape cooperative behavior in everyday life. The SPARRC app integrates experience sampling, behavioral measures, passive sensing, and naturalistic experimental modules within a longitudinal framework, capturing both momentary and long-term dynamics. Its modular architecture allows researchers to adapt protocols to local religious contexts and incorporate new measures over time. We describe the platform’s design, outline its theoretical grounding in debates on religious prosociality and ritual bonding, and present preliminary validation data. By making SPARRC openly available, we aim to support cumulative, ecologically valid, and culturally diverse research on religion and cooperation.
