Description Natural historical analytical methods are for conservators irreplaceable source of information. Expert - petrologist or mineralogist is able to determine specific material composition and in some cases also determine the source locality. These methods were applied during the study of Roman cements from several historical monuments in Czech Republic, which are Lednice Castle, church on Zelená hora hill near the town Zdár nad Sázavou and stone fountain in Valtice. Comparative mortars and plasters were taken from Tuscania in Italy
