Description The long QT syndrome is underlied by mutations of different genes for ion channels. Because of different kinetics different exercise dependent behaviour of QT interval has been proposed. Members of 5 long QT families were investigated by bicycle ergometry. 3 types of exercise dependent behaviour were identified: shortening of QT interval, its prolongation and slight variations. In majority of patients the maximum values were recorded after cessation of exercise.
