Citation
Description The author describes the context of the decision by the Roma to emigrate to seek asylum an the late 1990s, and presents facts that should prompt state intervention. The main causes of the Roma migration were insufficient development opportunities for the Roma, their feeling of discrimination, and their resistance of development strategies. The decision of some Roma to migrate and thus solve these problems was also stimulated by racially motivated violence and a resulting feeling of vulnerability, as well as by the existence of a migration model assisted by information and help channels within the Roma community.
