Description Preferences of oligochaete species for individual habitat as well as seasonal changes in their distribution were studied in the Rokytná and Loučka rivers. Quanitative samples of four major habitat types were sampled monthly from April 1999 to March 2001. Altogether 36 species (in the Rokytná River) and 28 species (in the Loučka River) of Oligochaeta were found. Habitat preferences of the dominant oligochaete species were not significant (with some exceptions). On the other hand species occuring sporadically and od the edge of their ecological valence preferred one habitat only (e. g. Nais alpina and Bothrioneurum vejdovskyanum).
