| Description | The article investigates the principal demographic, economic a social changes occurring in recent years, which have an immediate impact on the social protection system. It mainly pays attention to such factors as population ageing, growing participation of women in the labour market, high proportion of early retirements, and continuing long-term unemployment as well as changing household structure. Based on a brief analysis of these factors, the authors formulate the basic aims of modernizing social protection. |
