| Description | Publication and dissemination of multimedia on a DVD-ROM is becoming more often used today. But there is no out-of-the-box soultion for bigger projects. Tools and development processes have to be developed and customized for every bigger project: project of DVD-ROM prepared on the occasion of 10th anniversary of Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University Brno. The paper discusses in detail technologies, formats and approaches chosen when developing mentioned DVD-ROM. Reader will be exposed all steps necessary to take from initial idea to the final product: (GNU/Linux) bootable image of DVD. XML technologies and W3C standards were widely used (tens coworkers, about 100 coauthors, thousands of hyperlinked files, hundreds of pictures and images, almost two hours of 20 movie clips). |
