Description Hypothermia is very effective neuroprotective method in experiment and in some clinical indications. Neurosurgical and Anesthesia Departments of University Hospital Brno use controlled hypothermia as the only ones in Czech Republic. Mild controlled hypothermia is a perspective method which may be used clinically to protect neurons against ischemic insults of various etiology.
