| Description | After the introductory remarks on the origin of the firs Brno weekly, the language structure of the text type "Suchanzeige" (i.e. the announcement of people, animals and things missing) is analysed and described. In principle, two different subtypes can be distinguished: 1. the official form through which delinquents of all kinds are chased (thieves, vagrants, deserters, murderers), and which usually includes the "order of confinement", written in elaborate official style reflecting a typical elaborate syntactic structure 2. a fairly simple formulation of announcements in which the official character is almost absent, usually dealing with the "announcement of theft" including a warning not to buy stolen animals or things, as well as an appeal to the readers to provide assistance in clarifying the matter. In conclusion the article also points out some territorial linguistic peculiarities. |
