Description 47 first-episode schizophrenia men were assessed by MRI hippocampal volumetry, NPS tests of executive and short term memory functions and symptomatology scale (PANSS). We did not find any correlations between hippocampal volume and cognitive functions, symptomatology, treatment reactivity. Analysis including both baseline hippocampal volume and prefrontal functioning shows an association with positive symptoms.
