Biofilm - an important factor of virulence in microbes isolated from immunocompromised patients and from the environment of life boxes for transplanted patients

| Description | Strains isolated from the life boxes for patients after allogenic transplantations were mainly Gram-negatives. The most frequently isolated species were Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. The ability to form biofilm was demonstrated in 71.2 % of strains isolated from life boxes and in 34.5 % of strains isolated from standard hospital unit. The difference may be caused by different sanitation mode. |
