Description Development zones, i.e. industrial zones, science-technical parks, technological and innovation centres and other localities are presently the most progressive form of enterprise in the Czech Republic. A support of development of the above mentioned development areas and zones is in the Czech Republic a part of complex approach connected with foreign direct investments inflow support (Act 72/2000 on investment incentives) and a significant supportive tool for competitiveness increase in a regional scale. Most activities are connected with progressive industrial hi-tech branches or with scientific, research and development activities. Despite generally declared support conditions for public sector (municipalities, unions of municipalities and regions) and for private sector (developers), private development companies assert their position in this type of enterprise more and more. Their advantage lies mainly in flexibility and promptness in realisation of the project. It is effectiveness of enterprise of public and private sector in development zones and their importance for regional development that are the main aim of presented article.
