Description Presented research is a part broadly composed longitudinal study of socio-emotional characteristics and adjustment of intelectually gifted children in the Czech Republic. The core question of presented research is wheather intelectually gifted primary school children ( N = 57 children) have different kinds of fears because of their advanced cognitive abilities, different experiences, precouscious readings abilities and more sophisticated interests and hobbies. The method „Cake of fears“ was used to give children tool to freely display their fears and perceived freithfullness. Statistical analyses shows, that fears of gifted children are very different from fears of control sample children. Possible explanations of these findings, relationships to cognitive maturity of gifted children are discussed.
