Description The paper is part of a big research of pragmatic conception of knowledge, constitution of the Self, of the society, and of democracy that is is carried out by The Central European Pragmatic Forum. The text clarifies why the contemporary philosophies misunderstand the pragmatic theory of truth, its theory of knowledge and its metaphysics. At the same time, it shows why the correspondence theory of truth and knowledge is so powerful and seemingly persuasive, even though it could not present fair explications of its structural concepts: "correspondence", "adequacy", "reference" and "(adequate) construction". The reason is that our Occidental societies have internalized, by chance, the myth of "the true world" - the myth which lays the groundwork for our main tradition of thinking.
