Description | The aim of the study is to review factors that influence PA of inhabitants of the regions South Moravia and Vysočina. Observed factors were: size of the community, smoking and participation in any organized physical activity (PA). 2197 males and 2280 females participated in this study. Short self-administered version of International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used to collect data. We observe general decrease of PA throughout whole Czech society. In both regions we can define only 7,1 % males and 6,9 % females characterized as low physically active. 31,1 % males and 38,1 % females are characterized as moderate physically active. In observed regions 61,8 % males and 55,0 % females are high physically active (in whole Czech republic are that 62,7 % males and 53,0 % females). Nonsmokers are more physically active (Mdn=3885 MET-min-1 week-1; IQR=4512) then smokers (Mdn=3465 MET-min-1 week-1; IQR=4380) [H(1, 4343)=9,46; p=0.002; n2=0.00]. The most favorite PA is cycling. Further are aerobic dance in females and soccer in males. Further inhabitants participate in walking, swimming, volleyball, strengthening and running (including jogging). An important point for whole south Moravia seems to be the support and improving in urban planning in range of creating biking environment and maintenance of walking environment. There is necessary to continue in research of PA in relation to environment. Environment influence practiced type of PA and the knowledge of all conditions allows us to transfer research results into regional and communal policy and into future urban planning. |
