Description Autoimmune pancreatitis forms 4-6 % of all idiopathic chronic pancreatitis. The disease is characterised by presence of serum autoantibodies and high level of serum IgG4. Morphologic and histologic criteria are also defined. In region of Southern Moravia among 128 patients suffering from idiopathic chronic pancreatitis in 6 patients an autoimmune pancreatitis was proved. The steroid treatment diminished the symptoms and improved biochemistry results.
