| Description | In this paper we deal with gender in textbook research with a focus on portraying masculinity and femininity in English foreign language (EFL) textbooks. We summarise a few points from recent research and also present results of preliminary investigation of gender roles in current EFL textbooks used in the Czech Republic. |
