Description Traces of Cd were determined by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry after electrochemical preconcentration on a commercial graphite ridge probe modified with Pd. The Pd electrochemically deposited on the probe surface protected the graphite surface. Cd was electrodeposited at a controlled potential using the Pd-modified graphite probe as a working electrode. The procedure was applied for the determination of Cd in (1+1) diluted seawater and in (1+1) diluted urine samples.
