Description AtTRB (Telomeric Repeat Binding) proteins bind plant telomeric sequence (TTTAGGG)n via their Myb domain, similarly to human hTRF1 or hTRF2 (Telomeric Repeat Factor) which bind to human telomeric sequence (TTAGGG)n. In A. thaliana there are five AtTRB homologues. All AtTRBs contain Myb domain at the N-terminus, central H1/5-like domain and coiled-coil domain at the C-terminus. Even though they are similar at AA sequence they partly differ in their chemical properties or in expression levels in different plant compartments. To determine more precisely the binding sequence of AtTRB proteins and their intracellular localization in vivo we need to get specific antibodies for ChIP experiments. We have expressed the least similar peptide sequence of each AtTRB protein that is located in the loop between Myb domain and H1/5 domain in E. coli. Production of antibodies against plant proteins is very problematic.
