| Description | The Valency Theory of the sixties and seventies put an end to case definitions referring to semantic features by embracing a strictly formal description of a verbs subcategorization frame. It seems that the time is ripe now to return to the question of mapping between semantic and syntactic structure in a more systematic way. In the article I present some resent suggestions dealing with the problem of linking argument positions in semantics to syntactic constituents. |
