Description Nowadays, a globally unfavourable increasing trend of prevalence of methicillin resistant staphylococci strains especially Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is being detected. The occurence of MRSA strains was found out not only in humans, but also in animals (including food production ones). This article submits reports about findings of MRSA in animals and their staff. Authors summarise so far described MRSA isolates from animals in the Czech Republic. At present, Czech Republic has no available overall information on epizootic situation of MRSA in animals.
