Description The purpose of this project is to test a universal methodology of health care quality assessment and to improve monitoring in real clinical practice. Quality assurance/ quality control procedures are often not implemented in real clinical practice due to lack of data collection tools, insufficient standards for data processing and finally, also due to weak reference values. Implementation of monitoring standards in local level will improve management of cancer care and support presentation and decision power of involved cancer centres. This project is focused on advanced cancers, further complicated by bone metastases. Management of care for patients with solid tumors and bone metastases is chosen as proper model because it is closely associated with overall survival and the methodical project does not require long-term follow-up due to severity and morbidity of the disease. Adherence to valid clinical standards and correct management of care are directly related to the clinical outcomes and to the measurable aspects associated with quality of life of the patients. Therefore, it is not only of medical importance, it has substantial ethical and social dimension.
