Description Villages with inhabitants of the Czech descent in south-western Romania (region of Banat) are popular destination for tourist from the Czech Republic. A typical goal of this type of holiday is to get familiar with „well-preserved“ landscape and „traditional“ way of life of the locals. This texts analyzes the ways how the landscape and traditional way of life are perceived by tourists. Theoretical basis for this text was the concept of authenticity developed and used by contemporary social science.
