Description Silica gel C-18 microcolumns modified with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC), ammonium pyrolidine-1-yl-dithiocarbamate (APDC), 2-mercaptoethanole, 3-mercaptopropionic acid, or dithizone were tested for preconcentration of MeHg+ and Hg(II) from river and lake water samples. Recoveries higher than 85% were obtained. Standard addition method was recommended for samples containing higher concentration of Fe3+.
