Description The presented text is a survey study which lists the conclusions of numerous studies of the self-concept of gifted (especially intellectually) children, enriched by the conclusions of the authors` own research as well. In spite of frequent contradictory results and conceptual as well as methodological differences among the presented studies, we aim at providing more general results and formulate several thoughts and guidelines for the upbringing and education of gifted children.
