Description A 44-year-old female patient with spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage was admitted to hospital with suspected brain death. The physicians discuss whether to remove organs from the patient, facing the dilemma of benefit (organ donation) and damage for the transplantation program (negative publicity) under moral uncertainty concerning the patient’s attitude to organ donation (the opting-out principle is not well known to the public).
