Description One of the aspects of a teachers occupation, which receives less and less attention in discussions, is the Burnout Syndrome. During our research we assessed levels of burnout in teachers from selected primary schools and special primary schools in the A variant in Eastern Slovakia and we compared them. Despite the significant gap between the levels of burnout in primary school teachers and teachers of special primary A variant schools, the results did not show any connection between the factors often linked to it - age and lenght of wotk experience. We believe that causes contributing to burnout are related to personal characteristics of a teacher, or to the style of managment in a given school.
