Description Veronica acinifolia has been repeatedly reported as an alien species of the Czech flora. These reports are based on a short study by M. Smejkal published in this journal in 1970. The corresponding herbarium specimen, a single tiny plant originally identified as V. verna and since the 1920s deposited at BRNU, was collected in 1908 by F. Sedláček near Černošice in central Bohemia. It was later revised as V. acinifolia by E. Lehmann, but this rather remarkable record remained neglected until 1970. However, a careful inspection of the specimen has shown that the dwarfy plant unambiguously represents V. triphyllos. Consequently, for the time being, V. acinifolia should be excluded from the list of alien species of the Czech flora.
