Description In a broader context, pornographic industry (porn industry) can be seen as part of the so-called erotic or sex industry. Traditionally porn industry focuses primarily on presentation of its products in a wide range of media (movies, magazines, internet). This fundamentally affects the way it is perceived by the public. In fact, the extent (dimension) of porn industry is much larger, and with no doubt it also covers many economic, social, cultural, health, migration and other aspects. Nevertheless, the interest of geographers in this phenomenon still falls short of what would have been assumed due to its importance. The role in this situation apparently plays the fact that it is a controversial topic or even taboo. Therefore the aim of this paper is to contribute to the “opening” of the topic and to outline some of the possible scopes of scientific study of pornography and porn industry with the emphasis on geographic research.
