Description This monograph focuses on the conception of nature in the works of the important Victorian thinker, art critic and socioeconomic visionary. It is focused on the place of nature in Ruskin’s works from three basic points of view: philosophy, aesthetics and ecological economics. Individal chapters discuss Ruskin’s thinking about nature, explain its place in the context of his day and critically analyze his conclusions. The last chapter deals with the reception of Ruskin’s works in the Czech lands (Bohemia and Moravia).
