| Description | It is well known that the number of children born out of wedlock has been rising in the Czech Republic. The statistical yearbook provides that there is a growing number of cases where the father of the child is not determined before the birth of the child. The paper is therefore focused on the issue of status and property rights of the unmarried mother of the child in a historical context. Particular attention is paid to the balancing of rights of the child, the mother and the father. The final lines deal with the protection of the unmarried mother and her child in the new Civil Code. |
