Description There were 2799 diseases of upper extremities from excessive load of extremities or caused by vibrations notified in the Czech Republic during 2005-2009. Occupational diseases of peripheral nerves –entrapment neuropathies-form the most important group (67 %). The next two positions were occupied by diseases of tendons or tendon sheath or tendon insertions (22 %), joints (10 %). Diseases of bursas, adhesive capsulitis and others (1 %) were represented less frequently or only excerptionally (1 % of notified cases). The most frequent diagnosis was carpal tunnel syndrome, followed by epicodylitis of humerus.
