Description This paper deals with the context of Czech foreign trade and economic growth. It characterizes the Czech foreign trade in terms of structure and territorial orientation. It analyzes the development and changes. Czech foreign trade shows characteristics of intra-industry with focus on Germany. The main commodities are the machines and industrial products in general. Strong export and import links suggests re-export orientation of the Czech trade. Development of high-tech trade indicates the positive impact of trade on growth performance and competitiveness of the Czech economy. It captures both the import of technology and especially the gradual improvement of the Czech economy in the period.
