Description Purpose of the study: the aim of the study was to prove the effectiveness and safety of fecal bacteriotherapy in the treatment of relapsing pseudomembranous colitis due to Clostridium difficile in the clinical praxis. Methods: protocol of fecal bacteriotherapy was adopted from foreign authors (Bakken J.S., Aas J., MacConnachie A.A.). After six month, the success rate was not satisfying and the method was modified: instead of 30 g of stool the amount of 40-50 g of stool was administered. Results: in total 78,9 % of patients included in the study was succesfully treated. The study reached comparatible results with foreign literature, where the lowest success-rate is about 80 %. Nor complications or mortality were noticed. Conclusions: fecal bacteriotherapy is safe and simple method capable to cure chronically relapsing forms of pseudomembranous colitis.
